At Sparrow ADHD & Wellness Clinic, our ADHD Nurse Practitioner services are dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals of all ages navigating ADHD. Our practitioners are highly skilled in conducting thorough assessments, making accurate diagnoses, and implementing effective medication management strategies tailored to each patient's needs.

ADHD Assessment:
Our ADHD Nurse Practitioners conduct detailed assessments to evaluate symptoms and their impact on daily life. Through comprehensive interviews, behavioral observations, and validated assessment tools, we gather information to formulate a clear understanding of the individual's ADHD profile. We take into account developmental history, academic or work performance, social interactions, and emotional well-being to ensure a holistic assessment.

Diagnosis:
Based on the assessment findings and diagnostic criteria outlined in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), our Nurse Practitioners make a precise diagnosis of ADHD when appropriate. We ensure transparency throughout the diagnostic process, explaining findings and recommendations clearly to patients and their families.

Medication Management:
Effective medication management is crucial in optimizing ADHD treatment outcomes. Our Nurse Practitioners are adept at prescribing and adjusting medications based on individual responses and needs. We prioritize patient safety and well-being, conducting regular follow-ups to monitor medication efficacy, manage side effects, and adjust dosages as necessary.

Collaborative Approach:
At Sparrow ADHD & Wellness Clinic, we believe in a collaborative approach to ADHD care. Our Nurse Practitioners work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers (such as Clinical Counsellors) to ensure integrated and holistic treatment plans. We emphasize education and empowerment, equipping patients and caregivers with knowledge and strategies to manage ADHD symptoms effectively in daily life.

Tatjana holds a Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner with two specialized licences: Pediatrics/Youth and Women’s Gynae. Health in addition to her Family Practice licence.

A dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality primary care services to diverse and vulnerable special patient populations—primarily in Pediatric and Women’s Health at BCCH and BCW’s and now with Vancouver Coastal Health.

Skilled in comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across the lifespan, focusing on promoting health and preventing illness. Tatjana is especially dedicated to the growth and development of children and youth and believes that health in the earliest years — beginning with the future mother’s well-being before she becomes pregnant — strengthens developing biological systems that enable children and youth to thrive and grow up to be healthy adults. Positive early experiences provide children with a foundation for building sturdy brain architecture, which supports a broad range of skills and learning capacities throughout the lifespan. Support with ADHD in the earliest stages will create more positive outcomes throughout the lifespan.

Tatjana believes that though yourself or your child may need extra support to increase your social/emotional and educational potential, it is also important to support the development of independence, confidence, building of self-esteem and celebration of the strengths one already has. She believes that everyone should feel empowered in decisions about medication, therapies and how their ADHD or mental health is supported and communicated with others. Increasing understanding about ADHD enhances the quality of life for those who have it and those who care for them.

Receiving an ADHD diagnosis can be an emotional and overwhelming experience. For some, it brings relief - a long-awaited “this explains so much” moment. For others, it opens the door to grief, confusion, self-doubt, or frustration about years of feeling different, misunderstood, or that something has been deeply wrong.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC#21698) and a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA #11243612). I hold a Master’s in Counselling Psychology degree and have extensive experience across both private and public healthcare sectors.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples where ADHD is present, supporting both the practical challenges and the emotional impact that often comes with it. ADHD rarely exists on its own, it frequently intersects with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, attachment wounds, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and grief. My work focuses on addressing ADHD and the deeper patterns underneath it.

My approach is integrative, relational, holistic, and nervous-system informed. I support clients with:

  • ADHD coaching and executive functioning skills
  • Emotion regulation and emotional processing
  • Reducing shame and working with a strong inner critic
  • Relationship challenges and communication (including couples where ADHD impacts connection)
  • Anxiety, depression, and burnout
  • Attachment concerns, self-esteem, and grief

In our work together, I create a safe, non-judgmental space where we slow things down, build insight into what’s actually happening for you, and develop tools that support your real day-to-day life. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about understanding your nervous system, your patterns, and learning how to work with your brain rather than against it.

Many clients come to therapy feeling like ADHD is a curse, like they don’t quite belong or keep getting things “wrong.” My goal is to help you move toward self-compassion, clarity, and a sense of agency, while building skills that make life feel more manageable and aligned.

I typically recommend 4–6 sessions to begin the therapy process - building skills, understanding patterns, and getting to the root of concerns. Ongoing work is recommended through continued bi-weekly or monthly sessions, depending on your needs. For skills-based sessions, I recommend joining from a desktop or laptop so we can use the full screen for learning and tools.

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, attachment-based work, somatic and nervous-system techniques, to support meaningful, lasting change.

Clients often experience:

  • Improved executive functioning and daily structure
  • Greater emotional regulation and self-understanding
  • Reduced shame and self-criticism
  • Stronger relationships and communication
  • Insight into attachment patterns
  • Increased self-compassion and confidence
  • Relief from ADHD-related anxiety and depression
  • Healing around grief, loss, and identity
  • Improved relationships with others and themselves

You deserve support that sees the whole you, not just a diagnosis.
